Missions and Outreach
Michelson Memorial is dedicated to reaching outside our church to our community and our world. We actively support that effort by contributing our resources of time, energy and money to these worthy causes:
Baby to Toddler Closet
A pantry designed to provide diapers, clothing, baby furniture, and other items needed to help Crawford County residents with children sizes newborn to 3T. The Baby to Toddler Closet meets in the basement of the church and is open the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month. The 1st Thursday, they are open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no clients after 5:30 pm. The 3rd Thursday, they are open from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no clients after 5:30 pm
Crawford County Christian Help Center
The Crawford County Christian Help Center is a food and personal care pantry dedicated to serving the residents of Crawford County, Michigan.
North Country Cooperative Parish
NCCP is a coalition of willing churches, including Michelson, combining our efforts to identify and carry out short term home rehabilitation projects to benefit households in our region. NCCP hopes to inspire our community with positive action for change by churches united in common purpose in Christ's name.
Another recipient of our Gifts for the King Sundays, these items help those who have sought shelter from abusive situations. We also donate to Riverhouse throughout the year with special gifts.
United Methodist Committee on Relief – We regularly donate to the work of this organization whose mission, grounded in the teachings of Jesus, is to alleviate human suffering, whether from war, conflict or natural disaster.
Every Monday MMUMC hosts a free dinner for the community. We offer a main course, sides, salad, dessert, and drinks at no cost. We invite you to join us any Monday and witness the amazing community that has grown from this dinner.
