Missions and Outreach

Michelson UMC is dedicated to reaching outside our church to our community and our world.  We actively support that effort by contributing our resources of time, energy and money to these worthy causes:

Baby 2 Toddler Closet

A pantry designed to provide diapers, clothing, baby furniture, and other items needed to help Crawford County residents with children sizes newborn to 5T. The Baby to Toddler Closet meets in the basement of the church and is open the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm with no clients after 2:30 pm.

UMCOR

We regularly support the United Methodist Committee on Relief.  UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – be it famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and to be a source of help and hope for those left most vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when these events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.

Crawford County Community Christian Help Center

The Crawford County Community Christian Help Center is a food and personal care pantry dedicated to serving the residents of Crawford County, Michigan.  They provide free food and personal care items Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 am to 3 pm.  They are located at 300 Huron St.

River House Shelter

Riverhouse Shelter is a non-profit agency that provides safe housing for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.  We regularly support them by providing items from their monthly needs list.
